FIRE AND MULTI-HAZARD PROTECTION
Safety wear with no compromises
The Dimex fire and multi-hazard protection range of clothing has been designed for any type of work that involves burning, welding, cutting, brazing, soldering, grinding or similar high-risk activities. The EN certified garments in this range are flame retardant and have been made with either fabric that has been dipped in flame-retardant chemicals, or with inherently protective fabric that has a certain percentage of chemically flame-retardant fibers woven in. The flame-retardant properties are intrinsically present in the fiber’s polymer structure and cannot be lost, even if the garment is washed repeatedly. Flame-retardant fabric is self-extinguishing, but it is not completely incombustible. If a spark hits a flame-retardant garment, holes or discolouration may appear on the fabric, which in turn reduces its flame-retardant properties.
Dimex clothes with multi-hazard protection are certified according to EN standards and offer protection against heat and flame, static electricity, chemicals and thermal hazards caused by an electric arc. In addition, they comply with the EN ISO certification requirements for high visibility clothing for professional use. Nowadays, an increasing number of employers and contractors require workwear that meets all the aforementioned standards.
